Safety around the horse

Horses and humans use a different logic. We develop communication skills that are friendly and logical for the horse. Each phase is taught with how to do the task with an emphasis of why. You will learn in each phase ways to communicate with the horse that can be repeated from horse to horse. All lessons are a one to one therefore there is plenty of time for repetition, questions and perfection.

He has studied under Craig Cameron, Mark Lyon, John Lyons, Buck Brannaman to name a few. All the horses use in clinics and lessons are personally selected and trained by him. The techniques used are designed to be non aggressive but highly effective and use the natural instinct and balance of the horse to communicate. Ted is happy to provide referrals of previous customers. |
THE HORSES
Horses are all individuals and some are easier to train and train with than others. We keep 5 horses that are all selected for their temperament and ease to ride. An important part of learning to ride is being able to feel safe and enjoy all levels of horses. We use the different horses as the student progresses to accomplish this. Each horse has been used for a number of students and years and is perfect for students from beginner to advanced. |
PREPARE FOR EVENTS
Basic horsemanship is required for a horse and rider to perform in any event form cutting to barrels. We specialize in basic horsemanship all the way through the advanced rider. While we focus on preparing the rider for good horsemanship skills we will include the basics of any event or competition in the lesson program. AGES We find that students older than 10 years old are more prepared to physically ride a horse we have trained children as young as 6 and as old a 80. Feel free not to let age be a deterrent.
